History:
After 15 years of road riding I attended my first track day on the old Taupo Club Circuit in April 2005. Many more trackdays later at tracks across the North Island and one trip to Ruapuna in Christchurch, I was a self confessed trackday addict. During late 2007 I purchased a GSXR 600 which was built into a Race bike and I lined for my first race in October, 2007.
During the remainder of 2007 and 2008 I attended almost every race meeting in the North Island. In April 2008 over a 3 round series my first race highlight was gaining 2nd place, Clubmans Class, in the Pacific Motorcycle Club Summer Series.
Over the Winter of 2008 I competed in the 6 round Victoria Club Winter series at Manfeild Park in Feilding. During the series I stepped up to the Forumla 2 – 600cc class gaining top 20 placings in full fields of 35 riders.
In December 2008 I partnered with David Hunt (#18) to race the B.A.D.D (Bikers Against Drunk Drivers) 3 hour Endurance race at the Taupo A1GP track. In a rain soaked track 25 riders in a Le Mans style start set off on the 3 hour race. At the end of 3 hours and multiple rider changes we finished this race in 7th place.
Currently I am contesting the 2009 Vic Club Winter Series and running 8th in the Championship after 2 rounds. The goal is to finish the series with a top 10 placing.
Future goals are to compete in the 2010 National Road Racing Championship (Jan – Apr). This is a 5 round series over the North and South Islands against the best riders in New Zealand.
